Salt (2010).
I have to admit Liev Schreiber is one of my favorite actors and I wasn’t impressed with his role. Angelina Jolie however was classic. I hadn’t seen her in a while and I know this film is over a decade old but I thought it was pretty good. Generally I don’t love Spy films. The exception being Jame Bond movies. Originally they were trying to get Tom Cruise for this film and he was apprehensive because he felt it was too much like Mission Impossible. So they redid the script and changed it to a female lead. Honestly I wish they had done a sequel or two because this was a fairly large hit making about $300 million in the box office. I wonder why it never happened. My guess is it had to do with Angelina. On the flip side is this as well written as the Bourne series? No it’s not even fair to compare, but I like it better than the mission impossible films or the ton of Liam Neeson films which I guess are more bubble gum thrillers and less of spy films. Neither are my particular favorite genre.
It’s a fun fill with some cliche things but the entertainment value is there especially if you like this genre. For me it’s a solid C film worth watching on bored holiday weekend or late at night when you are looking for some entertainment.
Thanks to the guys at Scottsdale Video Production (MultiMedia Communications) for recommending I watch.
